AUBURN, Wash. — After community push back in Federal Way, convicted rapist Kevin Coe will be moving to the city of Auburn.

Earlier this week, Coe was released from civil confinement last week after nearly 20 years in state custody on McNeil Island, where he had been committed as a sexually violent predator. He served 25 years in prison prior to being sent to McNeil Island.

Coe, now 78, was set to live in an adult family home in Federal Way . The King County Sheriff's Office said the change of location was sparked by the community’s response.

“The opportunity arose for him to go to this facility in Auburn after Federal Way received some push back,” the sheriff’s office told KING 5 on Oct. 7.
