BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — The North Dakota Department of Transportation's Special Road Fund (SRF) program is now open to applicants looking to finance highway projects.
NDDOT is accepting applications from counties, cities, state agencies, and tribal governments for funding to improve roads that provide access to recreational, tourist, and historical areas.
The program is intended to help fund projects that need additional assistance.
Funding increased to an 80/20 split this year — meaning the SRF would fund 80% and the applicant would be responsible for the rest — and a maximum of $500,000 SRF dollars per project.
“The Special Roads Fund is a great opportunity to help improve access roads to and within tourist, historical, and public recreational areas,” NDDOT Director Ron Henke said in
