LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — All lanes of eastbound U.S. Highway 2 near the junction with state Route 204 remained closed Tuesday night after a suspected intoxicated driver fled a state trooper and crashed into two other vehicles, according to the Washington State Patrol and the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Just before 8 p.m., a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving, WSP spokesperson Kelsey Harding said. The driver fled, causing a three-car collision. After the crash, the suspect reportedly climbed over a concrete barrier and tried to run before being arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The driver and three other people, an adult and two children, were injured. Medics took the victims to a nearby hospital; their conditions were not immediately known.
