The city of Marion got $500,000 for the restoration of the Peavine Rail Trail’s trestle bridge.

The grant for the project is being funded through the state Parks and Recreation Trust Fund, administered by the N.C. Division of Parks and Recreation, according to a news release from the state. The grant will allow the city to restore the historic trestle and extend the existing walking and cycling trail from Baldwin Avenue to Jacktown Road, according to the release.
