PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY)-- A woman is hurt following an overnight shooting in Portsmouth.

According to police, officers were called to the 300 block of Choate Street at 12:26 a.m. for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a woman with gunshot wounds.

She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released any suspect information.
