VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- Virginia Beach Police said they responded to a stabbing near the intersection of Shore Drive and Independence Boulevard.

Around 8:25 Saturday morning, police were called to the 2000 block of Meredith Road after someone was stabbed. They said one person was taken to the hospital, but is expected to live.

"There is no threat to the community at this time," said Sgt. Jude Brenya. "The investigation remains ongoing."
