The National Weather Service released a freeze watch at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday valid from Thursday 11 p.m. until Friday 9 a.m. for Warren, Potter, Elk, Cameron, Clearfield, Cambria, Somerset and Tioga counties.

The weather service adds, "Sub-freezing temperatures as low as the mid 20s possible Thursday night."

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered," comments the weather service. "Those with agricultural interests should protect sensitive vegetation. Near-ground freezing temperatures could kill uncovered sensitive outdoor vegetation."
