An 84-year-old climber has died after falling 25 feet despite medics reaching him while he was still alive. A team from the Baraboo Area Fire and E.M.S. District responded to a call in Devil’s Lake State Park, Wisconsin, at 11:30 a.m., officials said. The man had been out with a group of climbers over the weekend. His identity has not been made public, The New York Times reports. Responders reached the man using a technique called a high-angle rope rescue, which lowers them down steep rock faces into hard-to-reach areas.
