At 2:39 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service released a frost advisory valid for Thursday between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. for Westmoreland Ridges, Fayette Ridges and Higher Elevations of Indiana as well as Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Armstrong, Westmoreland, Fayette and Indiana counties.
The weather service adds to prepare for, "Temperatures as low as 32 degrees will result in frost formation."
"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered," explains the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
