Some Carmel seniors are calling out Mayor Sue Finkam for what they view as a broken campaign promise, due to the city's elimination of funding for a senior center in the mayor's 2026 proposed budget.

If the budget passes as is, PrimeLife Enrichment , which provides transportation and other services to local seniors, won't get any money from the city in 2026.

Carmel continues work on setting next year’s budget, with $10 million less to work with with than projected due to property tax cuts enacted by the state, and Finkam has said the struggle comes from having less dollars while still having to support the city's core priorities, such as public safety and parks.
