Portland never cracked 80 degrees Tuesday, but still made it to 79 while other cities, including Salem warmed to 80 or more. That just may be the last of the really warm weather this season as a system off the coast brings in cooler air and rain.
The National Weather Service was watching plenty of marine clouds fill in along the coast early Wednesday as onshore flow returns. Those clouds are expected to push east and fill in the gaps in the Coast Range later in the morning. The metro area will see partly cloudy skies most of the morning and much cooler daytime high temperatures.
Portland should see clearer skies later Wednesday afternoon and a high temperature of about 64 degrees – 15 degrees cooler than Tuesday’s high.
