NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A storm is brewing and is expected to bring strong winds and flooding to New York and New Jersey this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook ahead of a coastal storm with strong winds and widespread flooding that's expected to hit on Sunday and last through Monday.

The coastal storm is likely to produce tidal flooding along the Hudson River from Sunday into Monday, forecasters said.

A freeze watch is expected for northern Westchester and Rockland Counties beginning Thursday night and lasting through Friday morning.
