The National Weather Service released a coastal flood advisory at 5:21 a.m. on Wednesday valid for Thursday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. for Monmouth County.

“Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways,” explains the weather service. “Additional minor coastal flooding is possible with the morning high tides into the weekend.”

“At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible,” describes the weather service. “A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected.
