EAST LYME, Conn. (WTNH) — East Lyme police Wednesday say they've arrested the man behind an airport ride service out of Coventry accused of stealing thousands from travelers — promising rides in vehicles that never arrived.

Mitch Kloter was arrested by warrant on Oct. 7. He was charged with fifth-degree telephone fraud and operating a livery service without a permit.

Police said the charges stem from a complainant saying in July Kloter agreed to transport them from their home in New London to the airport. The alleged victim had found Kloter's advertisement on Facebook.

Payment was made to Kloter but the limo service was not provided and he refused to refund the money, police said.
