A driver who struck and killed a woman while she was crossing Marion Street to get to the Cleveland County Fairgrounds Oct. 1 has been charged, according to Shelby Police.
Chief Brad Fraser said the man, 82-year-old Arthur Joseph Durazzi, from Lancaster, South Carolina, was charged Oct. 6 with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed. Fraser said Durazzi, who was working as a delivery driver for a medical courier service, will be served with a criminal summons.
