HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has provided UK drivers with an update on petrol, diesel and electric car prices just a few weeks after new costs were introduced.
On September 1, HMRC unveiled new advisory fuel rates (AFRs), which saw new rates being introduced for electric vehicles.
AFRs apply to employees using a company car if they need to be reimbursed for travel expenses.
If a company car is charged at both public and residential locations, businesses can "apportion the mileage based on how much charging happens at each place".
HMRC stated: "A higher amount than the advisory rates can be used as long as you can show that the fuel cost per mile is higher.
