Uptown Grocery Co. locations in the Oklahoma City metro will close and reopen later this month as a fresh concept under new ownership.

Brookshire Grocery Co. on Monday announced the acquisition of Uptown Grocery locations in The Village, at 9515 N. May Ave, and Edmond, at 1230 W. Covell Rd.

The Tyler, Texas-based regional grocery company owns and operates stores under five banners: Brookshire's, Super 1 Foods, FRESH by Brookshire's, Spring Market, and Reasor's, all located in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Currently, all Reasor’s Oklahoma locations are in the Tulsa area and the northeastern part of the state.

Brookshire will add a sixth grocery experience by bringing FRESH by Reasor’s stores to the Oklahoma City metro at the former Uptown Grocery locations.
