SALT LAKE CITY — Thousands converged at the Conference Center downtown to pay their respects to President Russell M. Nelson at his public funeral services Tuesday. They remembered him as a loving and inspirational leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who left a profound impact on their lives.
“He seemed to really embody to me what Christ would do,” said Kelli Hintze, who attended the services. That really felt powerful to see that example in action.”
Hintze said President Nelson had a way of making everyone feel “seen.”
“I really appreciated that he cared,” she told KSL TV. “He cared about people who sometimes felt overlooked or unseen — whether it’s women or just people in general.”
