SALT LAKE CITY — A small single-engine plane made an emergency landing on the shoreline of Utah Lake on Tuesday night.

According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office , the plane had departed from the South Valley Airport in West Jordan and was flying over Utah County when the pilot noticed that they were experiencing engine trouble.

The pilot tried to troubleshoot the issue in-flight and started heading to the Provo Airport, but made an emergency landing after realizing they were not going to make it in time.

No one on the plane was injured, but the plane sustained some damage during the landing.

The Federal Aviation Administration will be conducting an investigation.
