WASHINGTON — Country star Darius Rucker is now engaged.

The former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman announced his engagement to Emily Deahl on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

"Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known. The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to," Rucker wrote in a Facebook post accompanied by a photo of him down on one knee and another selfie of the couple together.

Deahl is a content creator and musician with nearly 500,000 followers on TikTok . It's unclear how long the couple has been dating, but Rucker posted a smiling selfie of them together last month in Las Vegas, calling her "my love." Both are South Carolina natives.
