A disgraced former Warwickshire Police detective's work phone was found to have 714 explicit images and offensive jokes. The discovery emerged during a disciplinary panel hearing into the conduct of ex Detective Sergeant Paul Whitehurst.
The two day hearing was told that the ex officer's mobile phone contained 714 inappropriate images including some of topless women, videos with explicit sexual content, and offensive jokes about domestic violence and misogyny.
It was also found proven that he had deleted WhatsApp from the mobile in order to frustrate the investigation into his activities.
The panel ruled that the officer, who had an inappropriate relationship with a vulnerable woman he met through work, would have been dismissed had he not resigned.
The hearing followed five investigat
