FRANKFORT, Ky. — A Kentucky public official was recently given countrywide recognition by a national publication.
Governing Magazine named Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams as "Public Official of the Year."
He is one of seven people nationally who received the honor.
“When people look at Washington and see dysfunction and the federal government literally not working, this is a great reminder that there is another way: toning down the rhetoric and working together to solve our biggest challenges,” Adams said.
Each year, the magazine honors state and local officials of both parties who have accomplished significant, positive changes for those they serve.
Governing credited Adams with "shepherding elections into the 21st century."
