Sophie Cunningham is encouraged as she recovers from a knee injury, so much so that she might not be strictly following her doctor's orders.

The Indiana Fever player suffered a torn MCL in her right knee Aug. 17 and had surgery soon after. She missed the rest of the season but is expected to be ready for 2026.

She said on the Tuesday episode of her " Show Me Something " podcast that she stopped wearing casts and braces on her knee, and that it is close to having full range of motion.

But did her doctors tell her to ditch the aids?

"I'm not the most patient person. I do pray for patience, but I kind of let myself out of that cast without a doctor's order," she said. "I had my check up and they're like, 'You're progressing really well and you look awesome.' I said, 'Say less.'"
