Among six Oakland County school districts putting bond questions before voters is one in Madison Heights.

The Lamphere Schools is asking residents to vote on a $47.4 million facilities improvement bond proposal focused on addressing infrastructure needs within the district.

The amount is significantly less than what was proposed back in May when voters rejected a 30-year, $85 million bond proposal 1,066 (42%) yes to 1,449 (57.6%) no.

“In response, the school district conducted a follow-up survey seeking community feedback. The community emphasized the need to focus on what’s most essential: student safety, critical maintenance, and infrastructure that supports day-to-day learning,” the district said in a statement. “Since then, the school district has revised the bond proposal.”
