Barrington Police are investigating a suspicious situation that occurred outside Hampden Meadows School last week.

Police said video surveillance from the school showed two male parties who were wearing masks place a toilet bowl — an actual porcelain toilet bowl — outside the front door of the school at about 1 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3.

Police said there was a note inside the toilet bowl that appeared to be a rant against technology and the role the district played in promoting technology. Police said the note detailed how school officials gave Chromebooks to students and those devices were often used for things other than schoolwork — the note’s writer said he started playing more video games when he was given the Chromebook.
