A pro-Palestinian protester accused of breaking a Boston police officer’s nose during a pro-Palestinian demonstration Tuesday night appeared in court on Wednesday.
Over two dozen people wore masks and keffiyeh scarves — a scarf associated with Palestinian liberation — as they gathered in the gallery of an Edward Brooke courtroom in Boston to view the arraignments of the 13 people arrested.
Roder Atwood, 21, from Somerville, was arraigned and faces charges of assault and battery on a police officer and destruction of property, along with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
Atwood is the only one who faces the additional assault and battery charges.
