MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - The man who was under the influence and crashed his car into the vehicle driven by a famous YouTuber pleaded guilty Thursday to vehicular homicide while DUI.

Ragnar Kristl, 38, is facing eight to 10 years in prison on the charge, followed by three years of parole. Grand Junction man Andrew Cross died from his injuries about a month after the crash on Jan. 31 near North First Street and First Street. He hosted the YouTube channel, Desert Drifter.

Kristl, who was sporting crutches as he entered the courtroom, didn't seem to have a visible reaction at his plea hearing, but started sniffling as it went along, as one of his lawyers gave him some tissues. As part of his plea deal, the other charges against him, reckless driving and careless driving, were dropped.
