CONNECTICUT, Conn. (WTNH) — One Connecticut city ranked high as having the worst drivers in America last year, according to ConsumerAffairs.

ConsumerAffairs analyzed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's deadly crash data, revealing that Waterbury ranked third-worst overall in 2024.

According to the analysis, there were: • 13.12 traffic deaths per 100,000 people. • 10.49 fatal crashes involved bad driving per 100,000 people. • 7.87 deaths involving DUIs per 100,000 people. • 7.87 deaths involving speeding per 100,000 people. • 6.12 deaths involving positive Blood Alcohol Content readings per 100,000 people

The analysis states that Waterbury has the highest amount of traffic fatalities that involve driving under the influence, which is more than four times the U.
