Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs opened SEMICON West, the premier microelectronics exhibition in North America, with a speech Tuesday that pledged her support to the success of the semiconductor industry.
“The semiconductor industry is experiencing a renaissance in Arizona unlike anywhere else,” Hobbs said in her opening remarks. “From leading edge manufacturing to R&D equipment suppliers, workforce development and advanced packaging, it’s all happening right here.”
Hobbs’ comments came as people from all over the world descended upon Phoenix, as the convention makes its debut in Phoenix after 55 years of being held in San Francisco. The convention will spend the next five years going back and forth between Phoenix and San Francisco.
