NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The final escaped inmate from the Orleans Justice Center has been recaptured in Atlanta.
On Wednesday, Oct. 8, sources reported that Derrick Groves was involved in an alleged stand off with Atlanta police.
Groves was one of 10 inmates who escaped the facility on the morning of May 16, through a hole cut in the wall behind the toilet in a first floor cell.
The nine recaptured escapees, Jermaine Donald, Antoine Massey, Robert Moody, Kendell Myles, Gary Price, Lenton Vanburen, Leo Tate, and Corey Boyd, have been transported to Angola Prison.
"Through a coordinated effort involving Crimestoppers Greater New Orleans, the United States Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, Louisiana State Police, the Orleans Parish Sheri
