ATLANTA — The last of the inmates who escaped from a prison in New Orleans was caught after a standoff with Atlanta Police on Wednesday afternoon, according to 11Alive's sister station in New Orleans, WWL , and Louisiana State Police .
The U.S. Marshals Service also confirmed to 11Alive that Groves has been captured.
According to WWL , law enforcement sources informed them that officers had surrounded a house in southwest Atlanta after receiving information that 28-year-old Derrick Groves may be inside.
Louisiana State Police said on Facebook that the standoff was "brief" and said agencies including the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, New Orleans Police Department, APD, Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office and others coordinated the effort.
