(WJW) - The National Weather Service has issued the season’s first Frost Advisory of the season.

Temperatures are expected to dip to near-freezing levels early Thursday morning for Ashtabula, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

The advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m.

There will also be clear skies and calm winds, which are ideal conditions for frost formation, according to NWS.

While the advisory doesn’t affect all of us, it’s just a matter of time until the cold hits.

Impact on Plants

The forecasted frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation, especially tender plants that are unprotected.
