COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. - Weyerhaeuser Company has made a significant contribution to wildfire safety in Oregon by donating 38 acres of land in Disston to Row River Fire Response (RRFR).
This donation will facilitate the construction of a new emergency substation aimed at improving wildfire response times in the Row River Valley.
According to Weyerhaeuser, the new substation will be a satellite fire station equipped with a fire truck and water tender, enhancing emergency response in Dorena, Culp Creek, and surrounding areas. The Row River Valley, a rural region outside Cottage Grove, faces high wildfire risk each summer and has historically lacked rapid access to city fire department services.
