LOUISA CO., Iowa (KWQC) - A Davenport man is accused of leading Louisa County deputies on a high-speed chase Monday afternoon.

An Iowa Department of Transportation vehicle saw a reckless driver about 2:05 p.m. southbound on Highway 61 near Grandview, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said officers tried to stop the car near Highway 61 and 130th Street.

The driver, later identified as Andrew Witham, 40, fled at speeds over 100 mph, deputies said.

Witham drove into Wapello at high speeds and turned on to Mill Street, police said and “abruptly” stopped on Mill Street near Cedar Street.

Deputies arrested Witham and officials said a K9 alerted to narcotics inside his car.

After searching the car, deputies said they found “crystalized substances” near the driver’s floorboar
