PORTLAND, Tenn. (WKRN) — Meadowbrook Park is now fully connected to the grid thanks to the Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation.
CEMC announced that Meadowbrook Park, along with a portion of Main Street, will unveil free public Wi-Fi through Cumberland Connect, the broadband subsidiary of the electric provider.
The initiative was funded through a Broadband Ready Communities grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development and delivered by Cumberland Connect.
According to CEMC, the project aims to enhance community connectivity, support economic development, and provide residents and visitors with improved access to essential online resources.
CEMC and Cumberland Connect representatives joined officials from the City of Portland and Sumner County at a ribbon
