NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Flights at Nashville International Airport moved smoothly Wednesday — a significant shift from Tuesday's delays.
Staffing shortages inside air traffic control forced the FAA to delay flights.
In a social media post, BNA officials said the FAA notified the airport at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, adding that flights would be reduced starting at 2:30 p.m. "due to a shortage of air traffic controllers." According to ABC, citing FAA notices, some approach traffic would need to be handled by air traffic control in Memphis.
Operations went back to normal around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, but the shortage and the shutdown are still causing problems.
