SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Shreveport police have arrested a suspect in connection with an armed robbery case.
63-year-old Solly Thompkins was arrested on Tuesday, October 7, in connection with a case in September. According to SPD, a suspect entered a store located in the 2000 block of Centenary Boulevard armed with a large knife, threatened the clerk, and demanded that she fill a bag with cartons of cigarettes. He then fled on foot with the stolen items.
Shortly before Thompkins was arrested, investigators issued a search warrant at his home, where detectives found evidence directly linked to the theft.
Thompkins was taken into custody due to probable cause and booked on one count of armed robbery.
