NEW YORK (PIX11) – Subway riders can now enjoy the convenience of cellular connectivity along a one-mile stretch between the No. 4 and 5 subway lines, AT&T and Boldyn Networks announced Tuesday.
Cellular connectivity was added to New York City’s Joralemon Street Tunnel.
5G crosstown G lines between Brooklyn and Queens are the next commitment, according to a press release.
“New York subway riders expect and are increasingly expected to stay connected to our family members, friends, and colleagues during our commutes,” said Betsy Plum, Executive Director, Riders Alliance. “Expanding 5G service to No.4 and 5 trains in the Joralemon Street tunnel and along the G line is a win for New Yorkers, especially Brooklyn riders who have long called for better underground connectivity.
