LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. -- Confusion surrounds changes to the Lee’s Summit License Office – one in the city isn’t going away entirely, but it likely won’t be the same.

“We realize the importance of the Lee’s Summit license office to the community and our priority is to minimize the downtime as contractors change," A spokesperson with the Missouri Department of Revenue said.

FOX4 went to the Lee’s Summit License Office, located in a shopping center on Southwest Blue Parkway. Signage there says staff will be moving to the Raytown office and thanks for the "wonderful years."

Change is coming, but what exactly?

It all surrounds a new contractor, the Department of Revenue says. Beginning November 1, the current Lee’s Summit office will be under new management.
