PLEASANT VIEW, Tenn. (WKRN) — First high schools and now middle schools have started to see the addition of weapons detectors in Middle Tennessee.

In back-to-back weeks, two Cheatham County schools have added the technology: first at Sycamore High School and now at Sycamore Middle School.

“It’s been a piece that we knew was coming," Leslie Harrison, the Principal at Sycamore Middle, said. "We got to see it modeled very well. We got to watch Sycamore High School — we got to go down and watch their process."

Monday was Sycamore Middle School’s first official day with these systems. Harrison said they practiced for the moment, even doing dry runs to anticipate how things would look when students arrived. So far, their kids have aced it.
