STAMFORD, Conn. — A Bridgeport woman who trafficked teenagers for prostitution was sentenced in Stamford Superior Court Wednesday to 15 years in prison, suspended after six years served.
Teresa Martinez, 39, will also be on probation for five years following her sentence, according to a report from the Connecticut Department of Criminal Justice.
On Aug. 12, Martinez pleaded guilty in the same courthouse to charges of trafficking persons and risk of injury to a minor.
In exchange for her pleading guilty, state prosecutors offered Martinez a 15-year prison term with the suspended sentence. She took the plea offer.
Investigators show that dating back to late 2020, Martinez arranged for the transportation of three underage teenagers from Bridgeport to a hotel in Norwalk for purposes of
