WRIGLEYVILLE — Miguel Ayala leaned against a wall in Murphy’s Bleachers and slugged the last few gulps of his beer during the seventh inning of Wednesday night’s Game 3 of the National League Division Series.
“This season has been such a roller coaster,” Ayala said. “These guys are hot for 10 days and cold for the next 10 days.”
Ayala was in the bathroom when the Cubs’ two-run lead was cut to one after Milwaukee’s Jake Bauers hit a solo home run in the seventh. A Cubs fan since he was 10, Ayala used to go to games with his father, who died a few years ago.
“I’m happy they’re playing October baseball,” he said. “I’m praying they win this one. I told the big man upstairs I’ll go to church every day for the rest of the year if they get one more.”
On the other side of the bar, Tara Kelly w
