SEATTLE — Seattle Mariners fans packed T-Mobile Park on Wednesday, bringing energy and optimism for Game 4 of the American League Division Series against the Detroit Tigers — even from more than two thousand miles away from where the Tigers call home.
For much of the afternoon, the crowd was lively, hoping to cheer the Mariners toward a win. But momentum shifted in the sixth inning when Detroit went on a big scoring run, dampening the mood and leading to a tough loss for Seattle.
Hundreds filled seats in the lower bowl, proudly wearing Mariners gear and showing off creative game-day looks.
"I'm watching history — we're going to get a pennant this year," said Tim Countryman, sporting a cowboy hat. "We're going to have more flags flying in this place next season."
