WATERBURY, CT. (WFSB) - A 25-year-old man accused of fatally shooting his parents in their Waterbury home was arrested Tuesday morning after breaking into a garage in nearby Watertown, where a homeowner confronted him during the bizarre encounter.
Police say the shootings followed an argument over money, and Adams killed his parents before fleeing the scene.
Jimmy Everitt of Watertown said he was woken up at around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday morning by alerts from his home security system. When he checked his surveillance camera, he discovered a man had broken into his garage.
“I woke up to a blink alarm on my phone. I was just getting up for work and then realized someone was in the garage,” he said. “I went and chatted my life into the garage and waved back at me.”
