The Movement Church in Madison says it will move forward with a planned speaking event featuring a conservative Christian guest, even after its building was vandalized overnight.
Madison County Sheriff’s deputies responded early Tuesday morning to reports of spray-painted messages across the church’s exterior walls and front doors on Browns Ferry Road. Investigators believe the vandalism occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Senior Pastor Seth Adgate says the graffiti appears to target the church’s conservative beliefs and upcoming event.
“This is kind of coming with the territory here lately. They flipped the lid, and we’re outside protesting, probably about 50 people. So, it’s not something we want, but it comes with the territory now,” said Seth Adgate, Movement
