SPRINGFIELD, TN — Human remains discovered over the course of several days along Sulphur Fork Creek have renewed focus on a decades-old missing persons case involving a mother and daughter who disappeared in 2004.

The first body part, found July 4, was identified as belonging to 68-year-old Joseph Frank Benton Sr., according to police. Benton was one of the last people known to see Jennifer and Adrianna Wix. At the time, Jennifer was dating Benton’s son.
