Flights faced delays at Edinburgh Airport on Thursday morning after a drone was spotted within the exclusion zone.
The incident reportedly took place around 11.30am with some flights delayed on landing and take-off for a short period while police investigated.
Officers were made aware as it is standard procedure when the exclusion zone is breached.
It's understood the drone did not enter the airfield and was not above the runway. Edinburgh Airport confirmed the safety of passengers and staff is "always paramount".
Anyone flying a drone within the airports restriction zone could face up to five years in prison and an unlimited fine.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has shared guidelines on their website that alerts drone users to the dangers of flying within the 5km restricted zone
