KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two people were killed in a crash involving a dump truck Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 50 highway near Sedalia, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just after 4:15 p.m. Wednesday at U.S. 50 and Missouri MM highway.

According to a crash log from the highway patrol, a southbound Toyota Camry entered the intersection with a green light and a westbound dump truck hit the car.

A 50-year-old man who was driving the Camry and a 48-year-old woman who was a passenger were killed as a result of the crash, according to the crash log. The highway patrol has not released their names but said both were from Sedalia.

No other injuries were reported.

The Pettis County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
