WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Sedgwick County Tag Office on East Kellogg closes Thursday as the county moves forward with consolidating locations.
The Sedgwick County Commission voted last month for the consolidation. This means you’ll need to register or renew your vehicles at the tag office on West Douglas.
There are also three satellite locations in the county -- Derby, west Wichita and City Hall in Park City.
All this comes as computer outages, long lines and staffing shortages have created lengthy wait times. Additionally, county tag offices have seen a 400 percent increase in foot traffic since last year.
The county said that’s mostly because of rules surrounding personalized license plates.
