PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Prince George's County Police charged a person with reckless endangerment after they fired a gun outside a shopping center Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responded to a report of a discharge of a firearm in the 3300 block of Walters Lane in District Heights around 4:15 p.m. When detectives arrived on the scene, they interviewed witnesses and viewed security footage to learn what happened.

Following the investigation, the armed security guard hired by the shopping center was charged with reckless endangerment. No one was hurt, according to police.

The security guard who was charged has not been identified by police and investigators have not shared details about what led up to the security guard firing a weapon.
